A. The deer (White Tails) are not farmed or pets and are wild and free to roam as they wish!
Q. Where is the Temperature gauge?
A. The temperature gauge has been replaced by my weather station displayed ABOVE!
Q. When were the deer last seen?
A. This question is irrelevant, Because the deer are wild, ALL sightings are totally random. Sometimes they return quickly and then sometimes carry on to their next food source.
Q. Do I have a policy regarding HUNTERS in this chat room?
A. ~YES!~ I have a policy like that of the US Military, "Don't ask and Don't tell". But any talk of hunting or the use of a name that infers to hunting and is calculated to upset people will result in a ban from the chat room!
Q. Where is this location ?
A. This is my home situated in a 1000 acre subdivision, with about 1400 homes, fences are not allowed between the properties, thus making it easy for the deer to move around. I am inside the City limits of Charlotte.
Q. When is the best time to see the deer?
A. There is no real good time , although around dawn and dusk can be good times to view!(after all they have to be "somewhere" at those times!)
Q. Why is it dark or why did it go dark?
A. The Deer Cam has a motion and Infra Red Motion detector flood light, this is tripped by the deer and goes off after about 5 minutes of inactivity.
Q. What are those tiny lights in the backround?
A. They are neighbors lights and sometimes you can see car headlights when the leaves are not on the trees during the winter.(some of the lights are about half a mile away!).
Q. Why am I asked to change name?
A. The chat room has a lot of regular viewers and is a friendly place to be! The site also remembers your name when you return and that in turn helps us remember you! So WHY NOT change name?
Q. What do I feed the deer?
A. There is feed corn in the trough also called "Maize" or these days "Ethanol" lol it makes the deer run better! lol, I do not need to feed the deer, the corn helps place the deer in front of the cam!
Q. What is in the white bucket?
A. Fresh clean drinking water, usually rain water when available!
Q. What is that brown/white block?
A. It is a cattle salt lick with added minerals. The doe's seem to like it when they are expecting!
Q. What webcam do I use?
A. It is a Philips SPC 900 NC, No longer in production as far as I know!
Q. What time is it there?
A. North Carolina is in the EST time zone or 5 hours behind London GMT!
Q. When are the fawns born?
A. Usually I start to see new fawns in Early July!(around July 4th)
Q. Why can't I see a picture?
A. The room may be full, usually around 30 people is the limit for this room due to the higher BitRate I use to enable a clearer picture. Try clearing your Internet Browser Cache, the way to do this varies between different versions of IE or whatever browser client you are using. Try TOOLS/INTERNET OPTIONS in Internet Explorer Then BROWSING HISTORY and DELETE.
Q. I have tried clearing cache and I still can't see a picture?
A. If you are using "dial up" you will have difficulty seeing anything on this camstream due to my high BitRate setting, sorry!
Q. AND FINALLY! "Why was I banned"?
A. If you were banned but did not change name then you were likely "bumped" off to allow people who do change name a chance to view the deer during high occupancy! You will get "back in" when room becomes available in "The Room".
